I wish I had posted these earlier, but better late than never! Shawn and I decided on a set budget for Marlowe’s nursery, and not only did I finish it under budget, but I had enough money left over to purchase a diaper bag that I’d been keeping my eye on. (I’ll post pictures of it later…)
We purchased Marlowe’s crib at [allmodern.com], and although it’s sold out right now, I’ve included a link to their uniquely modern crib options. The glider chair is from [Babies ‘R’ Us], and the rest of her furniture is from [Ikea] << the world’s greatest store EVER!
I had been keeping an eye out for unique decoration pieces at places like Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, West Elm and Etsy. Originally, I had planned on a bird theme, but I found a few pieces that I couldn’t resist buying. Like, the giraffe figurines and the elephant pillow. So, I changed her nursery to an animal theme. To tie it all together, I designed a few pictures of animals in Photoshop that I put in frames above her crib.
I’ve been painting since I was 12 (I had my first big commissions when I was 16) so it seemed only natural that I hang a few canvases in the nursery. I love quirky, simple artwork, so I painted a bird on each of the 3 canvases that I had purchased at Michael’s. I absolutely LOVE the results! I really wanted the nursery to be unique and creative, so everything on the walls (excluding the mirror) was designed by yours truly. I had also looked and looked for a mobile to go over the crib, but I couldn’t find one anywhere that I liked. So I decided to make my own. It was super easy once I found one I liked on Pinterest!
Okay! Enough chit chat; it’s time to show off my favorite room in the house!
And lastly, I just had to include a picture of my baby girl, all cuddled up in her blankie!! (Click [here] for more pictures of Marlowe!!)
