If you haven’t already noticed, a huge trend for Spring and Summer of 2016 is the twist skirt. Some people like to pair sweaters with their twist skirts, and I’ve even seen blazers and belts incorporated, but right now I’m digging the simple look.

I’m using my sister, Tiffany, as a model again (because, why not? Look at her HAIR!!) and I think my twist skirt looks so cute on her! She’s wearing it low on her waist, but I personally like to hike it up so I can wear a crop top with it and not show too much skin. I’m thinking about posting several different ways of wearing a twist skirt here soon, so keep your eyes peeled for those tutorials.

Guys. These amazing shoes are so adorable, versatile and COMFORTABLE!!! I want to wear them with every single outfit, and the truth is, they kinda’ go with everything I wear. They can be casual or dressy. I just love them so much!

The original shoes sold at Anthropology are wayyyyy to expensive for me. So, naturally, about two months ago I started searching for some look-a-likes. I don’t know why I didn’t search Amazon in the first place, because it was there that I finally found shoes that look so similar. I bought them about a month before I started my commitment to not shop for any clothing for myself for three months, so that’s lucky. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyway, there are two different colors, I think. Find them here, for about $120 cheaper than the originals:

K, first off, the humidity is kinda’ crazy here in NC. Did you see my hair? Not my best look. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyway, It’s been 24 days since I haven’t shopped for clothes, and it’s hard sometimes. I’ve been helping my mom re-decorate her house, which has been super fun, but we’ve been in and out of stores like TJ Maxx for the past few days. I have to literally shield my eyes when walking past the clothing section. Haha! I’m sorry if I’m being a baby about this, that’s not my intention. Actually, I should say that when I’m not around clothing that can be purchased, it’s very easy and even fun to not shop… The fun part is picking outfits from the articles of clothing that I already have! ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, I’ve noticed that the Spring 2016 trend is definitely white on white. I always love adding a third item – like wearing a shirt around my waist or a vest or a light jacket – because it adds interest. Oh, and I’m wearing my favorite shoes in the whole world. They also happen to be the most comfortable!

I’ve had quite a few people text/email/FB message me that they’re joining me in my “no shopping” journey. I would love to have more people join, too. My goal in this is to rearrange the way I think about clothing – more isn’t better and it certainly isn’t healthy to try to find happiness by shopping, whether out of boredom or sadness. If you’re interested in committing to three months of no shopping, and you’d like accountability, let me know! I’d love to talk with you about it!
